We are loving the feedback and interaction with different countries - apparently Jen and Carl sound pretty cool in America.
We want to start with a massive thank you to the listeners, please do keep on sharing and subscribing to our show.
Our message is simple - we want to make the arts accessible to EVERYONE. It's a mindset people, some of us are conditioned into believing the arts is posh or not for them, BUT let this street educate you with its constant run of humbled guests.
Which brings us to this weeks. MMTV (Marley Mancunia Records & Studio) Follow these bad boys on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MarleyMancuniaMCR/
We went down to the studios to speak with the kids who run this joint - Anton and Karl (Fat neck).
You may well recognise the well known Karl Power from his prankster days. He appeared in a Manchester United team picture before UEFA Champions League knockout stage match against Bayern Munich in 2001. We just loved his front.
So on location in their studios, we were introduced to the most shiniest of gems - a creative hub existing behind a Peaky Blinder type door. (Tommy was not behind it, Jen checked)
It's the kind of door where if you get locked in you ain't getting back out again. This artistic world is in Miles Platting, the studio live-stream on their online TV channel, rent studio space, have a cafe, help up and coming artists and so much more. We loved them. We share the same ethos and belief that everyone deserves the arts.
In fact, Jen and Carl are that good at blagging they only went and got an invite to be part of MMTV next live stream on 5th September. We are so grateful and excited for that. You have to subscribe and listen to show 6 with MMTV - Anton & Karl are brilliant and Karl managed to pimp out a hypnotist Gaynor Duffy.
It became a running joke in the interview so we felt we'd plug the girl- here is the Facebook page for good old Gaynor and her fantastic business 'Butterfly Effect Transformation' https://www.facebook.com/butterflyeffecttransformation/about Butterfly Effect Transformation focuses on positive change and transformation.)
Also on this weeks show
Carl & Jen have the usual banter and fall into hysterics a little bit too. We're blaming lockdown for the hysteria.
So in the Mancunian mood we were feeling - '24 Hour Party People' was given eyebrows.
If you haven't seen it, get on it kids and inhale the Hacienda times, music, people and era. It is the film to watch if you want to taste Manchesters scene, stars and shall we say pitfalls of running nightclubs. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.eeb5801f-97ef-bbf8-8648-ef402298dec1?ref_=imdbref_tt_wbr_pvs_piv&tag=imdbtag_tt_wbr_pvs_piv-21
It was also quite funny when Carl had a slight flush, just for a moment the street went pink - in the cheeks. Well I suppose he's normal or is he? Jen talked soft porn, love story of the century and a sexual link between two different classes.
Of course 'Normal People' The BBC 3 drama everyone was watching at the beginning of lockdown. How on earth has Carl not heard of this?
If you have not yet seen it, listen to Jen's review, Carl putting her on the spot and then tune in yourself and send us your eyebrows. https://www.imdb.com/video/vi1602338329?playlistId=tt9059760&ref_=tt_pr_ov_vi
The street is really coming alive and it is thanks to the input of our listeners. We are now on YouTube too so subscribe, feedback and share - we really appreciate it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSQCQ9G_LARe-Y1iu8QqUTw/featured
