Hi guys,
It really is third time lucky because we're now on a roll with our guests being 'eyebrow'. They are all so far away from highbrow and we LOVE it! Keep on bringing it kids our hot spot guests are oozing with humbleness every week.
So third episode in and we bag 'Mick Steff' and a location shoot in the Northern Quarter (check us out). If you haven't yet seen any of Mick's work yet put your cuppa down and click here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelsteff/
As we stumble across our guests we too are on a journey of discovery - there's art within art man.
We bagged a few snaps with Mick in The Northern Quarter and the street graffiti was awesome. Ok, some of it was most probably not a commission and we're not saying let's go and do a 'Banksy' but you have to appreciate the talent everywhere around us.
We got chatting to the homeless as Mick has shot (not with a gun) many of them and his rapport with them was beautiful. To be able to capture such sensitive even sometimes dark topics and express them in a stunning light says something about his character - top lad!
He absolutely blew us away, he makes you second guess and ponder the most mundane moments unravelling an alternative scenario. He is majorly talented. We loved chatting to him, his stories are quirky just like him, he also works in drug rehabilitation been clean for over 12 years himself he is one inspirational character.
So Word On The Street has been civil this week- not too many street signs being pulled down. Jen & Carl have agreed to some level on certain things.
Take 'Washington' - I mean would we have watched it if it wasn't for 'Hamilton'? To be honest one of us liked it more than the other we'd love to hear what you think? Then along came 'The Old Guard', now it's one of those where you need to stay with it and to be fair it does have some as if moments, nevertheless, it did receive a few eyebrows from the street. You'll have to tune in to see just how many.
We've only being broadcasting for 3 weeks and are loving co-hosting our pod. We've already had a mention on Simone Riley's show on BBC Radio Manchester https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08jfck8 (about 1:50 in) and also in The Salford Star too http://www.salfordstar.com/article.asp?id=5699. All we want to do is make the arts more accessible and we are bowled over to just how many people are up for getting involved.
At the end of this weeks episode we play out with the fantastic Brian Johnson - you're welcome! Before our last feature though, our Carl reviews 'Magpie Murders' so get tuning in to listen to how many eyebrows it gets.
Take a look at our cheeky snaps below.
The street has some pictures to hang up now. If you've any artwork you'd like us to show on social media send it in, we want to hear from you.
All the artistic love in the world
Jen & Carl
